School Districts Cloud Computing Services Self-Audit Checklist

The U.S. Department of Education’s Privacy Technical Assistance Center has recently published a guide to online education services and indicated that it will be paying closer attention to schools’ use of cloud computing. The use of “the Cloud” and outside vendors to manage student data can run afoul of federal privacy law and a comprehensive review of your school district’s use of such services is necessary to protect the district from liability.
